Order from Suppliers

Ordering from suppliers can be done from either a web browser or a mobile device, making it so you can place an order no matter where you are. Placing an order is fast and easy. You can even add an order note for additional instructions to the supplier.
Need to cancel your order after it’s been placed because you managed to find a better deal from another supplier? No problem, you can do that too.

Suggested Ordering

Our suggest order function forecasts the sales you’ll have and help you identify the quantities you need to order to support those sales. Zip Inventory integrates with Zip Forecast and your POS to base these forecasts on actual historical data.
Businesses are always looking to cut out the guesswork in their operations. Zip Inventory is here to help you accurately forecast, make smarter business decisions, and meet the changing demands of your business.

Receiving Orders

Once the supplier has arrived with your order, the next step is for you to go into the list of historical orders to change the status of the order you placed from “submitted” to “received.” Alternatively, you can also go into the order itself and edit the details of it in regards to the quantity that you ordered for each item in it that’s gone bad. Had a few items in your order that arrived in a state of being rotten or moldy? Simply go into the order and modify it to remove a number of unwanted items and the changes to the order will be reflected in real time for both the item count as well as the price. Therefore you can make last minute changes to it once the supplier has arrived with the delivery before you sign off on a bill of sale and finalize the order itself.

Variable Count Frequencies

Zip Inventory allows you to set different count frequencies for items that you will take inventory on. Users can set the count frequency for each item in the store, and Zip Inventory will keeps count sheets separated by count frequency to prevent any confusion or mistakes.

Menu Mix

The Menu Mix offers a quick view of the total number of each menu item sold, the theoretical total food cost, the total price for the items sold, as well as the profit percentage of each menu item. Zip Inventory allows you to filter and sort the menu mix to understand which menu items are your stars, plow horses, puzzles, and dogs.

Menu and Prep Recipes

Zip Inventory allows you to put in recipe instructions for your menu and prep items to ensure that you are providing consistent quality for your customers. You can also link a video to the recipe instructions so no matter who prepares the food, the result will be the same. Improving and standardizing the recipes with your staff will help reduce unnecessary waste in your kitchen.

Variance Reports

Zip Inventory offers a variance report in the mobile application to help users to gain an understanding of the cost of waste for each ingredient. Users can see the waste in dollar amounts and compare actual vs theoretical usage. By tracking the variance quantity, you can identify where there are opportunities to cut out waste at your organization.

Calculator

Our Zip Inventory application has an integrated calculator that is built into the application. Users do not need to switch back and forth between Zip Inventory and the calculator to understand how much inventory they have on hand.
The calculator is useful if you need to make any conversions, or if you’re trying to figure out the correct number of items to order.

Intuitive Interface

Taking inventory has never been easier with our Zip Inventory application. Once the inventory has been taken on the mobile application, the results are automatically synced onto the web application. Our complimentary application, Zip Ordering, makes it easy to order from your suppliers. Now you can keep track of inventory, recipes, costs, and orders are in one place.

Voice Search

We want to make your inventory counts as easy and intuitive as possible. One of the many ways we have accomplished this is by Voice Search.
Now a manager can take inventory by just saying the name of the item that needs to be counted. Users can voice search for items if their hands are full or if they don’t know where an item is in the application. It will allow a faster, hassle-free way of making sure you’ve counted every item in your inventory.
